RESEARCH IN THE SCHOOL OF CLINICAL MEDICINE

The University of KwaZulu-Natal, the College of Health Sciences and the School of Clinical Medicine all place a high priority on promoting research as a key component of our activities. We are engaged in an active programme of facilitating research and promoting research skills amongst our academics, particularly our young academics and our postgraduate students. We therefore welcome enquiries about registering with us for a postgraduate degree or suggesting research collaboration with our staff and students.

Research degree programmes

These are the Master of Medical Science (MMedSc) and PhD programmes. The Master of Medicine (MMed) programme leading to qualification as a medical specialist has an important research component.

Further information on these programmes may be found by following the links. Advice and support for currently registered students may be found under the Information for Students item on the main menu.

Research support for postgraduate students

The College of Health Sciences and School of Clinical Medicine are developing a comprehensive structure to encourage, develop, educate and support research talent among our students and younger staff. Details are available here.
